The Fearrington InnSider – Coming Soon: Thistle & Oak – A Shop for the Modern Gentleman

If you’ve ever wandered the Village and thought, “We really need a store just for men,”—you’re not alone. I’m thrilled to finally share that this August, we’ll be opening the doors to Thistle & Oak, our new men’s lifestyle shop at Fearrington Village.

The name is deeply rooted in our story: Thistle is a nod to Jenny Fitch’s love of all things wild and whimsical—she adored thistles for their resilience and unexpected beauty. Oak honors the towering trees that define our landscape and offer grounding strength throughout the Village. Together, they evoke a sense of tradition, nature, and quiet confidence—exactly the kind of feeling we want this new space to inspire.

Thistle & Oak will be tucked into the space formerly known as the beauty salon, currently getting a much-needed refresh. We’re mid-renovation and in full curation mode—selecting lines that reflect craftsmanship, style, and personality. From refined casualwear to timeless accessories, we’re working on a collection that will appeal to men of all ages, professions, and tastes. Think easy sophistication with a rustic edge—perfect for a weekend in the countryside or a day in the city.

There aren’t many places in the area for men to shop thoughtfully—and this new shop will fill that gap. Whether you’re a local looking for wardrobe essentials, a partner on a shopping stroll, or searching for that just-right gift for the man in your life, Thistle & Oak will offer something special. It will also beautifully complement the rest of our retail offerings, adding a well-rounded experience to the Village.
