One of the aspects I’ve always admired about life in Fearrington Village is how naturally it blends community, connection, and care — not only within the Village itself, but with our next-door neighbor, Galloway Ridge. Together, these two communities form a vibrant social ecosystem where friendships, interests, and experiences flow freely in both directions.

Though quite autonomous in their own right; Galloway Ridge is a continuing care retirement community and Fearrington Village is a residential neighborhood, the two share much more than proximity. Residents often describe their relationship as one of reciprocity in terms of social life.

The beauty of this relationship is that it feels organic. There’s no “us and them” — just neighbors who share a love of connection, curiosity, and good company. From book clubs and art exhibits to volunteer projects and special programs, both communities value lifelong learning and engagement.  This is particularly special in light of the fact that surrounding Chatham communities cannot join many of the interest groups, social clubs and Fearrington pool.

As one resident put it, “It’s like having two communities for the price of one. We each bring something particular to the table, and everyone benefits.”

Whether you call Fearrington Village or Galloway Ridge home, you’re part of a broader circle — a place where friendships flourish, ideas flow, and life feels richer through connection. It’s this shared energy that makes our corner of Chatham County so unique: two communities, side by side, living life fully and well, together.
