DROUHIN HOSPICE DE BELLEVILLE MORGON BEAUJOLAIS 2019
$28.00
"The colour is purple violet, this Morgon, already unveils its temperament by aromas of very ripe red fruits, spices and liquorice. The palate confirms a tannic structure, a little firm as yet, covered by balanced and fruity flesh." — Véronique Boss-Drouhin
Now, with a touch of age, the fruit and tannin should be nicely woven together, a clean expression of Gamay. For each pressing some grapes are destemmed and go through a typical Burgundian fermentation process, while the other portion go though semi-carbonic maceraction whole cluster. An ode to the history of the estate and appelation with a touch of Drouhin's over all house style.
Maison Drouhin is one of the largest estates in Burgundy, dating back to 1880. Over five generations they have acquired parcels throughout Burgundy. They make wine at all levels so you can add elegance to a daily week night dinner as well as celebrating any special occasision. When Phillipe (the current eldest son of the family) took over in 1988 he shifted the family's focus to organic and biodynamic viticulture, to help in the preservation of Burgundy's grape varieties.
