Pale salmon in color, this full-bodied wine had a fine mousse and a creamy, rich texture. Complex aromas and flavors of raspberry, baked pear and cherry are complemented by a hint of toasted vanilla. The balance of fruit, minerals and crisp acidity lead to a round mouthfeel and lasting finish.
Troy says - "That's right, New Mexico! Gruet was founded by Frenchman Gilbert Gruet from Champagne who traveled in the US before it seemed obvious where in the country to go for wine (1981). He decided on the higher elevations of Northern New Mexico as the climate that most suited his style to make Champagne method wines. New Mexico never took off nationally, but there is a bonafide wine scene there, and Gruet is consistently recognized as one the best values in American wine."
