A bright and clean wine with aromas of white flowers, peach, ripe melon, pineapple, key lime and wet stone. A blend of 84% Grenache Blanc, 14% Picpoul, and 2% Roussanne provide a complex mouthfeel with minerality and refreshing acidity.
Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1962, though the iconic history of the Monte Bello vineyard and the winery dates back to the 1880s and the Judgement of Paris. Paul Draper, who joined Ridge in 1969, is one of the world's most celebrated winemakers making western Paso Robles the new epicenter for Rhône plantings in California.
This wine is carefully aged in a variety of oak ranging from American, new French, and Acacia as well as seeing time in concrete and Italian clay amphora. These practices add textural complexity and a long, satisfying finish to this wine. All farming is sustainable with grapes being harvested by hand and fermented using local yeasts. A true expression of its place.
