Inspired by their travels through Europe, R.B. and Jenny Fitch dreamed of bringing the warmth and elegance of Relais & Châteaux to North Carolina. When told that only inns—not restaurants—could be members, R.B. replied, “So we built an inn.”

Completed in 1986 and welcomed into Relais & Châteaux in 1988, The Fearrington House Inn embodies refined Southern hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and timeless charm. Decades later, it continues to honor that vision—where every guest is welcomed like family and every stay feels like coming home.

MEET OUR GENERAL MANAGER

Born in Barbados and on several islands of the Caribbean, Theresa Chiettini grew up surrounded by the warmth of hospitality and a deep appreciation for the art of genuine service. From an early age, she learned the intricacies of luxury hotel management through her family’s work in the industry—an experience that inspired her lifelong passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

After earning a degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida, Theresa built her career across the U.S. and Europe, including time at the renowned Rafael Hotel in Munich. Since joining The Fearrington House in 2000, she has combined her international perspective with Fearrington’s Southern charm, leading with care, creativity, and an unwavering dedication to excellence that defines the Fearrington experience today.
