A truly unique creation based primarily on the Clairette varietal blended with Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Ugni Blanc and a touch of Muscat Blanc. Yellow peaches, red delicious apples, poached pear, and a compelling array of nuts, chamomile, and minerals dance across on the palate in this wine. Notably ageworthy but drinking beautifully now!
If you’ve not tasted the wines from this historic Provencal estate, now is your chance. Six generations of the Rougier family have owned and cared for the estate over the past 200 years, cultivating old-vine grape varieties in a unique, and protected microclimate east of the town of Aix.
Grapes are harvested by hand, de-stemmed, and lightly pressed to extract flavor. The wine is aged for one year in old foudres, followed by an additional year in mostly neutral oak barrels. Lemon verbena, pine-resin, salt-preserved lemon with smoky richness and waxy green fruits on the palate with a powerful backbone of crushed stone.
